Our Community Involvement
Missouri is known as the "Show Me" state. We at Brown & Crouppen like to show the people in our communities how much we appreciate them by participating and helping support local charitable events. While Brown & Crouppen's primary purpose is to provide exceptional legal representation to individuals throughout Missouri, an important part of our firm's philosophy is to make a real difference in people's lives.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to our communities.
Bosnian Summer Days Festival
“Magic and Tricks for Kids” was organized by a non-profit organization ARIA in conjunction with Ljetni Dani Summer Days 2006. Brown & Crouppen and staff went out to the Summer Days Festival to help them reach their goal of collecting funds for opening a Bosnian library and recreation center both children and adults. We were excited to be a part of this festival and are looking forward to partnering up ARIA again to continue raising funds for this much needed cause.
United Cerebral Palsy Walk
Brown & Crouppen employees participated in the 3rd annual United Cerebral Palsy Rock & Roll Stroll and followed up by participating in the organization’s Casual Day event where employees, in exchange for dressing casually on a business day, made a contribution to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater St. Louis. Brown & Crouppen had a near one-hundred percent turn out for Casual Day.
The Famed Dillard University Choir of New Orleans In Concert at Missouri History Museum
The Dillard University Concert Choir embarked on a national tour of nine cities including St. Louis. The Choir performed during a St. Louis City NAACP Black History Month event that was held on March 3rd at the History Museum.
"To commemorate Black History Month, the event was held at the Missouri History Museum to provide an unique opportunity for the community to enjoy the performance of the Dillard University Concert Choir as well as tour two of the most moving and compelling exhibitions: Baseball As America and Captive Passage: The Transatlantic Slave Trade and the Making of the Americans," said Harold Crumpton, President of the St. Louis City NAACP.
“The evening began with refreshments and tours of the exhibitions followed by the Dillard University Choir in concert,” Crumpton said. “Serving as event co sponsors with the St. Louis City NAACP was Brown & Crouppen, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and the Missouri History Museum.”
Brown & Crouppen provided the choirs’ traveling expenses for the St. Louis event and during intermission Terry Crouppen provided some inspirational words to the youth in the audience.
Established in 1869, Dillard University is historically black, liberal arts, undergraduate university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dillard is a member institution of the united Negro College Fund. Hundreds of UNCF graduates work and reside in the St. Louis area.
The NAACP, the oldest and largest civil rights organization in America, was founded in 1904. The St. Louis City NAACP was organized in 1914 to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups; to eliminate racial prejudice; and to take lawful action to secure its elimination, consistent with the efforts of the national organization.
Angel Tree
For the past 11 years Brown & Crouppen associates have participated in the Angel Tree Program. During the holiday season, each associate who participates “ adopts” a child who is in foster care or who has an incarcerated parent. The children are provided with a gift and stocking at a holiday celebration.
Kids Chance of Missouri
Each year Kid’s Chance of Missouri hosts a variety of events to help raise scholarship money for children of a parent who has sustained a serous injury or a fatality in a Missouri work-related incident. For the past five years Brown & Crouppen has helped sponsor and has participated in the organization’s annual St. Louis golf tournament.
Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church
We believe in the strength of our communities, and our commitment to help support our fellow citizens. This is why Brown & Crouppen is thankful for the opportunity to work with the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and provide Christmas turkeys for those in need. Last year, November 2005, over 150 turkeys were donated to families in the community. We were very pleased to participate in such a joyful occasion, and look forward to this year.
Habitat for Humanity
For the past few years, Brown & Crouppen employees have volunteered their labor to help build a house and complete landscaping for Habitat for Humanity. The employees also raised money to give a monetary donation to help with other expenses.
Habitat for Humanity St. Louis was founded for the purposes of aiding and assisting low-income families in need of adequate housing. Through volunteer labor, management expertise and tax deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds homes in partnership with homeowners. These houses are sold at zero profit to the partner families and zero-interest mortgages are issued to help low-income families become homeowners.
Brown & Crouppen has also been active in sponsoring the Habitat for Humanity St. Louis’ Annual Golf Tournament and Auction.
Annie Malone’s May Day Parade
At Brown & Crouppen, we are family and that is why for the second year in a row, Brown & Crouppen participated in the May Day Parade. This parade is organized to raise money for The Annie Malone Children & Family Service Center. Annie Malone is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children families and the community. Each year this organization serves over 1,000 children and families in the St. Louis community. All money raised from the parade assists in providing residential treatment, family focus and parent enhancement workshops, transitional living programs, and assists in helping reunify broken families.
